The hotel has recently undergone considerable restoration, and when built initially, housed the longest bar in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Captains Flat Hotel is family-friendly, with many fireplaces to enjoy in the winter. Acoustic music sessions are encouraged, and there is a lock-up area for cyclists and undercover parking for motorcyclists.
