Billabong Parklands Artworks

The Parkway, Campbelltown Billabong Parklands, Bradbury, New South Wales, Australia, 2560 Arrow
Artists Milne and Stonehouse worked with the Council and the local Aboriginal community to develop a vision for the Billabong Parklands. The artworks at the Billabong Parklands were developed in consultation with key Aboriginal stakeholders, Yirran Miigaydhu Weavers Group and artists Danielle Mate and Maddison Gibbs. The bridge acts as a symbolic connection at the heart of the landscape and draws on the notion of ‘the land between two rivers’, representing Campbelltown’s place between the Georges River and Nepean River. The entry sign reads: Njirgangga dharidhamayi Dharawal nguradha (You are standing on Dharawal Country). The centric circles on the entry artwork represent the Campbelltown community while the Lyrebird footprints reference the totem animal of the Dharawal people.
