2XX People Powered Radio: Celebrating 50 Years

It's not every day that you get to celebrate 50 years on the airwaves but that's exactly what 2XX is doing at Canberra Museum + Gallery. This exhibition tells fascinating stories of the community-grown station whose humble beginnings arose as Radio ANU in two small rooms at the Australian National University Drill Hall in 1971. Making it official with a broadcasting licence, in 1976 the station was officially launched as Canberra's beloved, 2XX.
