Southern Downs Region

Ninety minutes from Brisbane, the land climbs into the Great Dividing Range and the whole climate changes with it, granite country, vineyards and genuine seasons where the rest of the state barely gets one. Stanthorpe and Warwick anchor the region on either side, each with their own character, one built on cool-climate wine, the other on heritage streets and rose gardens. Between them, national parks and waterfalls fill the ranges, and small villages keep their own slower pace. However you spend the time, the temperature alone tells you you've left the coast behind.
