At the north-eastern edge of the sandstone belt, the spectacular gorges of Blackdown Tableland National Park rise boldly above the plains. Heading West Stop at Blackwater, the Coal Capital of Queensland and home to the International Coal Centre. Heading East Fossick for 120 million year old thundereggs or 'volcanic birthstones' at Mt Hay. Take a short detour to Mount Morgan, once Australia's greatest gold mining town.
