Considered the "Citrus Capital of Queensland", you'll find all sorts of produce there from grapes, stone fruit and nuts, as well as dairies and piggeries, which are the subject of interesting agricultural and horticultural tours. Attractions include the Historical Museum and 'Meeting Place of the Waters' 360 degrees mural. The Auburn River National Park, at the intersection of the Auburn, Boyne and Burnett Rivers, features a wild and impressive river channel of huge boulders and water-worn rock formations. 'Enormous Ellendale' s a giant mandarin and another of the "big" icons worth visiting in Queensland before you drive on to charming Childers. Perched on a slim ridge with views over thousands of hectares of sugarcane and avocado farms, Childers is the southernmost township of Central Queensland. The town's historical buildings date back to Queensland's early pioneering days while the Bakers Military Memorabilia Museum is believed to hold the best display of military memorabilia outside of the Canberra War Memorial. Stop at the Childers Art Space, which has a program of changing exhibitions of local, state and national artists.
