Childers is an historical town with magnificent views overlooking thousands of hectares of vivid green sugarcane and avocado farms. Head towards the east coast and Woodgate Beach, a stunning curve of white sand stretching over 16 kilometres. It's an unspoilt spot which offers an old-fashioned beach experience. The small seaside town features crystal clear water and is surrounded by the Burrum Coast National Park which can be explored via the walking trails, such as the Banksia Track and Boardwalk. The track takes you over the melaleuca swamp, into palm forest and through wallum heath where wildflowers bloom between August and October.
