Built by Hammer and Tap due to the fragile earth, plagued constantly by water problems, wet season heat and humidity these tunnels represent the pure determination and hard graft the men of the Civil Construction Core. From the first bombing on the 19 February 1942 the Civil Construction Corps took upon themselves to store oil away from the Invading Japanese Forces. Celebrate the 80th anniversary and 30 years business in 2022.This attraction opened for the 50th anniversary in 1992 show casing the Bombing of Darwin this is a must see .
