Drive to nearby Beerwah where you'll encounter another Queensland icon, Australia Zoo, and the former home of the Irwin family. legendary crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. With more than 1,200 animals and stacks of free shows daily, it's full of wildlife action and adventure. Get hands-on with their cuddly koalas, waddling wombats, slithering snakes and cute kangaroos. Come face-to-face with their majestic tigers, hand-feed their gorgeous elephants, or have your photo taken with a baby alligator. For adventure of a different kind, the Big Kart Track is not far away and the largest commercial go kart track in Australia with 50 karts roaring along their 1.2 kilometres long international standard race track at six kilometres per hour.
