Visit the Cairns Aquarium, the first public aquarium built in Australia in 18 years, it is home to more than 15,000 specimens and 10 ecosystems. Start your day with a self-guided tour through the aquarium and explore the ecosystems and habitats of Tropical North Queensland. Visit the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, located at Cairns Aquarium. A not-for-profit, volunteer-run, charitable entity is caring for rescued sea turtles. Guided Turtle Hospital Tours are available. You will be taken on an exclusive tour of the onsite Turtle Hospital to meet the sea turtles in our care. This educational experience lasts approximately 30 minutes, and 100% of proceeds from the Turtle Hospital tour are utilised for food, medicine, veterinary care and operating costs. This afternoon you will be met at 12.45 pm at the entrance of the Aquarium by Cairns Discovery Tours to continue your afternoon city sights and surrounds sightseeing tour.
