Departing Carnarvon, this 2.5-hour scenic helicopter flight takes you north along the rugged Quobba coastline towards the majestic wonder of Lake MacLeod. Lake MacLeod is a vast wetland system home to one of the largest in-land mangrove communities in the world. The westernmost lake in Australia, the wetlands are replenished by a unique karst system, which flushes the ocean tides of the Indian Ocean through subterranean channels underneath the lake. These channels thrust seawater up vertical shafts, sinkholes and other surface vents within the lake. A photographer's dream this lake is filled with colour and abstract scenery.
