Journey through time as you explore the history of the Exmouth region, from the traditional owners to the first pastoralists, WWII and American history, all the way through to the modern day. This four-hour scenic tour begins with pick up from your Exmouth accommodation just before 8.30 am. Travel in an air-conditioned bus to the first stop at the Krait memorial, along the way learn about the traditional owners of the NW Cape and indigenous history. Upon arrival at the Krait memorial, you’ll be amazed by Exmouth's covert WWII history and the pivotal role the area played. You'll then travel to a scenic viewpoint at Charles Knife Gorge, to marvel at the breathtaking views of Exmouth Gulf and the incredible canyons here. A stop at the Jurabi Turtle Centre and a photo opportunity at the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse - a stunning scenic viewpoint with sweeping views of reef, range and gulf, and its own fascinating history round out the morning. Included in the tour is a light snack, a passionate driver/guide who will regale you with stories and interesting insights to the area, and photos taken by your guide, available for free download after the tour.
