Direct flights to the East Kimberley hub of Kununurra are available from Perth and take approximately three hours. If you’re travelling from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you can also opt to fly direct to Broome and join a short connecting flight to Kununurra. Some of the most stunning landscapes of the East Kimberley wilderness are best viewed from a light aircraft or door-less helicopter, including one of the most curious ranges on Earth – the Bungle Bungle Range in World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park. Along the way, you’ll also get an eagle’s eye view of Lake Argyle and the Argyle diamond mine – the world's largest diamond producer, famous for its exquisite pink diamonds. Or you can choose to see Lake Argyle by boat - it is the largest man-made lake in the southern hemisphere. Some tours offer the opportunity to view the 350-million-year-old natural wonders of Purnululu on foot, including a walk through the cavernous Cathedral Gorge, before returning to Kununurra.
