Breakfast in Nannup’s quaint cafes, before joining the Brockman Highway south to Scott National Park – home to the swamp bottlebrush, climbing trigger plant and one of the world's most diverse collections of cordrushes. This park is also accessible by boat from Hardy Inlet. In just over half an hour from Scott National Park, you’ll reach the coastal town of Augusta – a great place to stop and pick up lunch on your way out to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse on Skippy Rock Road scenic drive. Out on the far south-west tip of Australia sits the largest lighthouse on the nation’s mainland, overlooking the dramatic meeting point of the Southern and Indian oceans. From here, you can step on to the Cape to Cape Track and take in some of the spectacular coastal scenery, fascinating geology and sensational wildflowers that make this one of the most diverse treks on Earth. More than 20 different species of orchids are found here, including the unique Augusta bee, funnel web spider and vanilla orchid. You’ll also see climbers and creepers such as coral vine, wisteria, clematis, coastal Pimeleas and fan flowers. From June to September, you may also spot migrating humpback and southern right whales on their journey north to the breeding grounds.
