Tinaroo is a stocked impoundment in the Cairns hinterland just over an hours drive from the Central Business District. It's home to some of the biggest Barramundi in the country. It is renowned for many world record captures, the Lake is stocked annually. Generally in the warmer months (September through to May) the barra are more active and easier to catch. These fish can be targeted on lure or fly around dusk and dawn, and around full moon the fish are more predictable and easier to catch. Full and half day tours available, hotel pick-up/drop off lunch, snacks and drinks provided.
