The Great Sandy Strait is a marine wonderland with plentiful fish, dugongs, turtles, dolphins, mangroves, seagrass pastures, birdlife sand and mud crabs. Excellent fishing is available either from the shore or out in the dinghy. Yabbies can be pumped on the low tide flats. Dinner options include self-catering; bbq in the park or camp kitchen cooking at Poona Palms. The Boonooroo Sandy Straits Bowls Club serves meals on Friday and Saturday nights. 6 pm-8pm.
