The Great Ocean Drive turns inland once past Eleven Mile Beach. It’s worth the stop to visit this gorgeous lagoon for a swim or snorkel. If you’re feeling particularly carefree, you can take the plunge at Skinny Dip Bay. Return to Esperance via Pink Lake. Contrary to its name, the lake has returned to a whiter colour, but still offers bushwalks and a thriving habitat for local birdlife. To see the pink hues of Lake Hillier, join a scenic flight. Once back in town, take a stroll through the acclaimed museum village, with its galleries, craft shops and restored heritage buildings.
