As we take off, we can see the Perth CBD to the North as we head East out over a forest area that stretches as far as the eye can see. After around 20 min the ocean of green forest gives way to farmland. Here the farms are mainly used for wheat crops and sheep pasturing. During winter, it is a patchwork of green with the occasional river and Salt Lake. However, in summer we see the iconic burnt, parched, Golden Outback that Western Australia is famous for. Once we've flown over the vast farming area we arrive at Wave Rock, landing on a small country airstrip. This is where we pop on a bus for the short drive to the National Park. At Wave Rock, we take time to walk around this gigantic granite formation that rises 15 meters above the outback plain. Once we've had a walk around, we settle down for a picnic lunch and refreshments. Once lunch is over, we visit Hippo's Yawn, to have a look at this larger-than-life rock version of an animal native to Africa. After our time exploring, we head back to Perth, flying back over the Wheatbelt.
