Riverdowns is at the centre of one of Australia’s most famous freshwater fisheries. Fly fishing instruction and guiding can be arranged for guests and visitors. Your guide, Andy Matenson, has over 20 years of professional guiding experience. He guides in Victoria's High Country, New England, and the Snowy Mountains. He is a certified casting instructor with the Fly Fishing Federation. Riverdowns Fly Fishing have 600 metres of private frontage to the historic Howqua River, and are an easy drive to several other famous trout streams, including the Delatite, the Jamieson and the Upper Goulburn. A two hour lesson is mostly on grass, with a little on water time. All standards are catered for, from beginner to those wishing to improve their existing skills. All gear is provided.
