Continue along the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail, breaking the three-and-a-half-hour journey to take in some of the 25 interpretive sites revealing many chapters in gold rush history. Take a walk down Hannan Street for an introduction to the grand architecture of Kalgoorlie – the greatest expression of its gold rush riches. Make your second stop at the Museum of the Goldfields to see how prospectors searched for gold, learn about the hardships they faced and gaze in awe at the largest display of the State’s collection of gold bars and nuggets. Or see the fine works of the Goldfields’ Aboriginal and contemporary artists at the Goldfields Art Centre and Kalgoorlie’s boutique galleries. Many of Kalgoorlie’s grandest heritage buildings house its pubs, bars, nightclubs and restaurants – offering a good choice of modern Australian and Asian cuisines, drinks and entertainment.
