Central Queensland Region

Central Queensland runs from the Southern Great Barrier Reef through to sandstone gorge country, big enough to hold a coastline, a wildlife-rich hinterland and inland highlands in the same trip. Base yourself on the Capricorn Coast for reef access and quiet beach towns, or head inland to the gorges and gemfields of the Central Highlands. Follow the coast south toward Bundaberg's turtle grounds and the reef's outer islands. However you split the time, you're never far from something completely different.
